0-1What you do

A young ninja carries a scroll to the top of a mountain. The game begins as a classic side-scroller and, midway, opens up into a larger world to explore, switching between 8-bit and 16-bit eras.

0-2Who it is for

Players who like precise platforming, jokes and a clever twist.

1-1Kind checkpoints

Checkpoints are close together. When you die, a small demon called Quarble collects a few time shards instead of sending you far back.

2-1The twist

Halfway through, the game changes in a big way. We will not spoil it.

3-1Humour

The shopkeeper's stories and jokes are a highlight. Stop and listen.

Power-ups

  • Tight controls
  • Clever structure
  • Funny writing

Debuffs

  • Some backtracking later
  • Difficulty spikes in places

Hint

Talk to the shopkeeper whenever he offers a story. Some are very funny.

Final word

A brilliant ninja platformer that keeps surprising you.
